About trees and citizen participation in the Westend neighborhood:
Our cities are heating up more and more due to climate change. What can be done? One of the best solutions is to plant trees. They not only provide shade, but also cool the environment by evaporating water. In Munich, the city with the highest population density in Germany, there is little space for new trees. Parking spaces therefore have to be converted, which leads to conflicts. Using the Westend Kiez as an example, it will be explained how the transformation of street space could nevertheless succeed with citizen participation.
An event as part of the Münchner Klimaherbst.
In cooperation with Manufaktur 2 of the Münchner Initiative Nachhaltigkeit (MIN) and the Münchner Volkshochschule (Munich Adult Education Center)
