From July 7 to 13, the whole of Cologne will be dedicated to climate protection at the Climate Festival .
How can film contribute to the climate discourse - both in terms of content and in practical terms in the realization of films? We would like to present and discuss this on this evening - with the film "Vergiss Meyn nicht" and the presentation "Nachhaltiges Szenenbild".

FILM SCREENING "DON'T FORGET MEYN"
D 2023, documentary, 102 min., director: Fabiana Fragale, Kilian Kuhlendahl, Jens Mühlhoff; FSK 12; production: MADE IN GERMANY, distributor: W-FILM; supported by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW
In 2018, climate activists occupied Hambach Forest, which quickly became a symbol of resistance against politics and the economy. When the police cleared the forest, a young film student died in an accident: Steffen Meyn. He had accompanied the protest action with a 360° camera with journalistic intent - in solidarity, but by no means uncritically. This extraordinary documentary is made up of the footage he left behind. It provides direct insights into a protest movement that is struggling to find its stance and suitable means. How far can and should activism go?
Followed by a film discussion with the directors Fabiana Fragale and Kilian Kuhlendahl, moderated by Sonja Hofmann (Head of Kinofest Lünen, Management Filmbüro NW e.V.)
An event organized by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, the ifs Internationale Filmschule Köln and the Academy of Media Arts Cologne as part of the Climate Festival Cologne 2025
