This summer Entity Theatre presents William Shakespeare's comedy The Merchant of Venice at Theatron, Westpark.

Adapted and directed by Conny Loder & John Yates, produced by Ken Lawler & Peter Heinz.

The play

Antonio, a Venetian merchant, asks Shylock for financial support so that Bassanio can successfully ask for Portia's hand in marriage. When Antonio is unable to repay the loan, Shylock demands repayment of the debt in the form of a pound of his flesh. Portia, now Bassanio's wife, disguises herself as a lawyer and takes over Antonio's defense. Will she be successful?
