Wine and Crime - Mausetot

"Mausetot" ... "Der Detektiv & das Saxophon" alias Jo Jung, Ruth Sabadino & Boogaloo have finally hit the dogs with their new beastly criminal program.

A jazzy literary reading about "man's best friends" and their unsuspected criminal abysses.

Winking, funny, quirky and with lots of great animal music.

We humans are, as we believe, the most highly developed species on this earth. So what do we really care about our fellow inhabitants, the animals?

These mooing, barking, squeaking, growling, purring, squeaking and sometimes supposedly mute creatures, if they live underwater. They do concern us, as our supposed soul comforters, who actually live in a kind of parallel world, usually intuitively know more about the world of bipeds than the so-called "homo sapiens" themselves.

This should at least give us pause for thought, perhaps even make us suspicious, but also curious. After all, some of the claws that pertly reach out towards us when we stretch and stretch from the cat cushion are meant to be anything but gentle ...

The narrator and actor Jo Jung, whose distinctive voice is familiar to many listeners of SWR and ARTE, juggles effortlessly with all kinds of dialects and unerringly aims for ever new punchlines. With his multi-faceted gestures and humorous reading, he brings the paper black and white to life.

Germany's most criminal jazz band "Boogaloo" provides the perfect soundtrack: sometimes wafting subtly, with sounds and tones that sensitively ensnare the texts, then suddenly grooving explosively like the Midnight Express to Harlem. In an irresistible way, the three musicians weave a seductive web that does not allow perpetrators and listeners to escape. Together with Jo Jung, they merge into a unique audio movie - live on stage!

Jo Jung switches effortlessly between Turkish and Italian accents or between Swabian and Baden tongues, bringing a giant snake to life just as easily as a mayfly. And Ruth Sabadino and her band not only enhance the mood by providing the right musical backdrop to the stories, but also set outstanding accents with spiritedly performed titles in the realm of jazz and soul ...
