The Bundestag election campaign is in full swing. It is no longer just posters and colorful balloons at stands in pedestrian zones that are supposed to convince voters. Opinion-forming is decisively influenced by social media. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X - young voters in particular are the focus of attention via the various platforms. The extreme parties in particular play cleverly with videos, posts, photos and tweets.

WE NEED TO TALK: Is social media a threat to democracy? AWO Kreisverband Bremerhaven and the Bremen Chamber of Employees invite all interested parties to this event on Monday, February 17, 2025. After the introductory lecture "Between the promise of participation and the power of algorithms" by Dr. Jan-Hinrik Schmidt, the panel will discuss fake news, age restrictions, fact checks and hate campaigns.
