A theatrical research project on the four walls of Oldenburg's inhabitants
Cooperation between theater education and Low German drama
In High and Low German
Rented apartment? Ownership? Shared flat or housing project? Outside? Where and how do you live and what has led to your living situation? Do you feel comfortable within your four walls or are they a compromise? And what is your absolute dream home?
A roof over our heads is one of our basic existential needs: We need a protected, warm space that we call a "home" at best. For our well-being, we need a place where we can be ourselves and relax. However, carefree living is no longer a matter of course in Germany, not even in Oldenburg. Rising rents, housing shortages, restrictive conditions in rented apartments, exploding property and land prices and the displacement of low-income groups are shaping the housing market. What does this mean for social coexistence in the city? And how can we as an urban society do justice to the issue, especially in social terms?
We want to find out together what the "housing situation" in Oldenburg actually looks like: To whom is the door to the housing market open, to whom is it closed? And how could housing in our city develop further?
Let's ask questions, spin utopias and imagine how we want to live together in Oldenburg.
