Wohnzimmerslam - Anti Special

In the organizer's words:

The Wohnzimmerslam is the coziest poetry slam in the whole Ruhr area - that's for sure!

We invite 6-8 poets from Bochum and the surrounding area to vie for the audience's favor with their self-written texts. The spoken contributions must not exceed the time limit of six minutes and must be performed without props. The jury is selected from the audience each evening and is allowed to decide whose words have penetrated the hearts, whose jokes have made the room tremble and whose rhymes and metaphors can even compete with the established poets from German lessons. The winner gets to take home victory, fame and amore!

The special thing about the evening: we're up for experiments! At the Anti-Slam Special, all rules are suspended except for the time limit. Will singer-songwriters join the line-up and try to convince the jury musically? Who will tell a fairy tale in full drag? Who will unpack Goethe and perform belly dancing? We have absolutely no idea what our poets will come up with, but oh dear, are we in the mood for this wild show with you!

The event will be moderated with authenticity, jokes and profundity by Einfach Ely and Lennart Heins - an experienced moderation duo from our team.

The Wohnzimmerslam Dortmund has been taking place for over ten years, in Bochum it is now moving to the beautiful event room of "I am Love", probably the most beautiful ice cream parlor in Bochum. Ice cream and cabaret? That tastes good!

It is important to us to create our events as safer spaces. Discrimination of any kind has no place here. So that everyone can participate in fantastic word art, there is always an awareness person who is available as your contact person for the evening, answers any questions about toilet paper, menstrual products and accompaniment to the station and is happy to take criticism and, if necessary, discomfort. Come as you are: glittery, covered up, a little shy, alone or with people, queer or not queer, great and wonderful - however you feel comfortable. We look forward to a feel-good atmosphere and an audience that is simply in the mood for culture.
