Wolfgang Suchner & Hans Werner Otto: WOLFGANG FÄLLT UM

In the organizer's words:

Wolfgang Suchner and Hans Werner Otto present their book "Wolfgang fällt um", which is based on a suggestion from Wolfgang's doctors: he should write down how life as a freelance artist can be reconciled with epilepsy.

Wolfgang talked about, among other things, his work with Peter Kowald, in whose house he had lived for a long time, about tours as a musician and actor, about operations, about seizures on stage ... Hans Werner wrote it down, and it became a whole book.

Hans Werner will read, Wolfgang will play trumpet, tuba and box bass.

Christina Rudersdorf (nutritionist) will moderate the event

Wolfgang Suchner
Born in 1959, after studying to be a teacher (music/history) he worked as a street musician ("Fortschrott"), actor and director, as a trumpeter and tuba player in bands (Hubert Kah, M.Walking on the water, Jansen and many others), as a studio musician and on municipal stages (Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf, Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch) and in numerous independent music theater productions, including with street children in Kinshasa. He has been a member of the "theatre du pain" trio since 1999 and also frequently performs in projects that combine free improvisation and dance.

Hans Werner Otto
Born in 1954, was a secondary school teacher with a focus on school theater until his retirement, and also worked as a director and actor in projects in Wuppertal's independent theater scene, where he met Wolfgang Suchner. He has published several regional history stories to date, most recently: "Hier unten leuchten wir", 2023.
