Some things have a power over people, precisely because they are so reduced. The best example from the past 60 years or so of music history: the riff. To send an audience into ecstasy with a well-chosen 10 to 20 notes on an electrically amplified guitar - and to reproduce this at will through reliable recognition - is one of the greatest powers of musicians. So you can imagine Andrew Stockdale as a really powerful man, as he has been recording concise rock riffs by the dozen with his hard rock project Wolfmother for around 20 years and regularly manages to electrify the mosh pit at his live shows. The Australian is the best proof of the saying that simple things are not good because they are simple, but because they are good. And above all because Stockdale went his own way without compromise from the very beginning. The first album was an outstanding success and went double platinum. Wolfmother played Hurricane, Roskilde, Rock am Ring and im Park and Live Earth from a standing start, were featured in iPod commercials, recorded the Jackass theme song and won the Grammy in the "Best Hard Rock Performance" category. Most recently, Wolfmother's pandemic album "Rock Out" was released in 2021, on which a 19-year-old student from the neighborhood helped him. It's as if Stockdale had remembered how he himself entered the studio as a novice several years ago and revolutionized rock. Wolfmother were already on tour with the new songs and old riff monsters last year, but now they are coming to four more cities: "When in doubt rock out"!
