Hybrid production with VR glasses

"Wonderland Ave." is the name of the eponymous location in Sibylle Berg's visionary play from 2018, which even today, seven years later, feels uncomfortably contemporary. Director Lukas Joshua Baueregger relies on a mix of live acting and virtual reality elements in his production.

The world is finished. Humans are no longer needed because the machines have taken over. They gently guide the existing "human capital" towards the approaching end with automated voices. In the "wellness" facility Wonderland Ave. there is neither pressure to perform nor competition.
To cover up the futility of human existence, the machines have even devised a competition. Sibylle Berg cheerfully and melancholically describes a possible end to the (working) world as we know it.
