WOOOP at the Fritz-Henßler-Haus
The theater festival offers a variety of opportunities for children and young people to participate and watch.
From 30.06. to 04.07.2025, the Fritz-Henßler-Haus will be the venue for the WOOOP theater festival with children and young people.
All children and young people, groups from different types of schools and youth recreation centers are welcome!
Various workshops on the subject of theater
The workshops are about stage presence, playing beyond the stage, unusual costumes, transculture and performances.
We have free places in these workshops:
Site-Specific Theater with Anna-Sophia Zimniak. In this workshop, the location becomes the starting point for short scenes that are developed together.
For 10 to 14-year-olds:
Tuesday, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday, 9:00 to 12:00 or 9:00 to 15:00 and 16:00 to 19:00.
Thursday, 9:00 to 12:00 or 9:00 to 15:00 and 16:00 to 19:00.
Upcycling costume with Melina Hylla.
Various materials are used in a variety of creative ways.
For young people aged 13 and over and adults:
Tuesday, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Stage presence with Clara Planqc. This workshop is about using simple means to achieve the greatest possible effect on stage.
For children aged 10 and over, teenagers and young adults:
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 16:00 to 19:00 in each case.
"Media in the theater" with Sascha Bisley.
After an introduction to the basics of filming, participants will create their own short productions and have the opportunity to accompany the festival with media. Registration for all days is recommended.
For young people aged 12 and over and adults:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 16:00 to 19:00.
Drum workshop with Sven Petri. This workshop is aimed at beginners to advanced drummers. Here you can get to know simple grooves or expand your own repertoire. Sven will show you how to create different moods with the instrument.
For young people aged 13 and over and adults:
Wednesday, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Circus workshop with the young team from Circus Frizantino.
Children and young people can try out juggling, acrobatics, balance and aerial artistry with the young team from the Fritzantino circus on individual days or in a themed combination over two days.
For children aged 7 and over:
Monday and Tuesday from 15:00 to 17:00.
For children aged 11 and over:
Wednesday and Thursday from 15:00 to 17:00.
Open desk goes WOOOP: Poetry slam with Peter Panisch.
High word art, "deepe" poems, funny short stories and critical hip hop - Peter Panisch teaches the phenomenon of poetry slam in the workshop and you perform your texts live on stage.
For young people aged 13 and over:
Monday, 15:00 to 17:00.
Clear the stage for plays On Friday, WOOOP will conclude with a performance day. Participants will present the results of the workshops, including the youngest participants from the Theater in der Kita workshop, who will stage a play together with drama teacher Edith Schneider-Debie. A group from Libellengrundschule will be on site to embellish the day with walk-acting.
All interested parties, whether groups from schools, leisure centers or the independent scene, are welcome to register for the performance day and decorate the stage with their content.

WOOOP has set itself the task of offering children and young people a stage, introducing them to diverse forms of aesthetic expression and creating creative freedom for them - with the aim of promoting their individual abilities and strengthening their potential in the long term.
WOOOP is organized by Kulturbüro Stadt Dortmund in cooperation with Fritz-Henßler-Haus, Jugendamt. The event is free of charge.
We offer free catering for groups who have booked full-day workshops.
