WORKSHOP: Antisemitismussensibel in der rassismuskritischen Arbeit

In the organizer's words:

Just as work critical of anti-Semitism should always be critical of racism, postcolonial criticism of racism should also be viewed from an anti-Semitism-critical perspective.

To this end, we will first clarify what constitutes anti-Semitism, where its origins lie, what functions it fulfills and in what forms it currently appears.
In doing so, we will work out how anti-Semitism differs from racism and where the interfaces lie.
In this context, we will also explore the differences between postcolonial critique of racism and a critical theory of anti-Semitism.
Finally, we will discuss how work that is critical of racism, e.g. in the educational, advisory or cultural field, can be shaped in a way that is critical of anti-Semitism.

Target group: Actors from the field of anti-racism and anti-discrimination work.

The Cologne Society for Christian-Jewish Cooperation and the Cologne Adult Education Center are cooperating.
