Creative Mending - embellishing textiles with repairs
Holes in your favorite sweater? Tears in your everyday jacket? That doesn't mean their best days are behind them! In this workshop, you will learn how you can not only make your garments and other textiles fit again with repairs, but also embellish them. Designer Sarah Neuwirth from Urbanisten will show you various techniques, from Japanese sashiko to darning and embroidery. At the end, you will go home with a repaired, reinforced and personalized item - and with the skills to give all your garments a longer life.
Please bring your own textiles to repair (clothes, bags, scarves...), all other materials will be provided. Of course you can also bring your own patches, yarns etc. if you have them.
