This workshop focuses on basic floorwork techniques in contemporary dance. Various approaches to movement on the floor will be taught - including rolling, sliding and pushing. Through powerful, dynamic combinations, new forms of movement are explored in which the body serves as a central means of expression. Essential principles such as weight shifting, momentum of movement and a conscious awareness of the body in space form the basis of the practice.
Mina's passion for dance stems from her deep connection to movement and music, which has accompanied her since childhood. Her dance training began in classical ballet with Sonja Bjerke and Olivia Lindig, followed by contemporary, dancehall and modern dance. After graduating from high school in 2018, she decided to study dance at the ArtEZ University of the Arts in the Netherlands, where she trained in dance, choreography and pedagogy from 2018 to 2022.
There she developed her own movement language and received professional training in ballet, contemporary/floorwork, jazz and modern, among others. In her final year of study, she focused on interdisciplinary improvisation processes with dancersand musicians.
Today, Mina lives and works as a dancer and teacher in Cologne and Düsseldorf - with a teaching focus on urban contemporary, floorwork, improvisation and modern.
The workshop is designed for all levels of experience.
