Workshop New Design from Düsseldorf

In the organizer's words:

The exhibition 'New Design from Düsseldorf' by the Design Department of the Peter Behrens School of Arts at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences will take place for the second time from June 7 - 10, 2025.

More than 70 outstanding projects by graduates from the New Craft Object Design, Communication Design, Retail Design and Exhibition Design courses over a period of one and a half years will be on display.

Various workshops and guided tours for different age groups will take place in this context.

The workshops are also inclusive and, if possible, accessible.

The following topics are offered by graduates from their field:

Saturday, 07.06.

(14-18 years): Poster design, 11:00-12:30 and 13:30 - 15:00

Get an insight into the basics of design and create your own exhibition poster. The aim is to work analogously with type and design methods and get to know them.

(6-10 years): Zine with lots of imagination, 12:00 - 14:00

Tell your own story in the form of self-designed booklets; with the help of craft materials and the most important tool: your own imagination.

Sunday, 08.06.

(10-14 years): Your colorful words, 13:00 - 15:00

In this workshop, you will create your own illustrated mini-glossary on a topic of your choice and make language visible. By combining words and images, complex ideas can be presented in an understandable and personal way.

(from 16 years): Form, surface, fragment, 15:30 - 17:30

Dedicate yourself to the creative interface between art and illustration, resulting in experimental collages - inspired by the graphic design of the "New Design from Düsseldorf" project.

Monday, 09.06.

(6-10 years): Zine with lots of imagination, 14:00 - 16:00

Tell your own story in the form of self-designed booklets; with the help of craft materials and the most important tool: your own imagination
