In the workshop PRE-PRODUCTION FOR ANIMATION, Kai Schöttle, producer and managing director of bigchild entertainment, will guide you through the pre-production process for animated films and series.

From concept development and the creation of storyboards, animatics and designs to the planning of the entire project, participants will learn what is important for the smooth running of pre-production. Through insights from the field, contributions from other experts and practical exercises, aspiring junior producers, creative producers and pre-production managers gain in-depth knowledge that is essential in the preparation of any animation production.

Pre-production is the first phase in the creation of an animated film or animation series. Even before the actual animation begins, the basis of the project is created: The story is developed, characters are designed and worlds are created. A well-thought-out pre-production process is therefore crucial to the success of the entire project.

TARGET GROUP

Previous knowledge of animation or film in general is an advantage, but not essential. Career changers and interested artists are very welcome.
