A workshop for those who want to create a balance between hard and smart work. A technical and physical approach, packed with improvisation, stage material and analytical tasks. We will spend the days analyzing the "how", "what" and "why" to make a point out of our performance.

We will create a space to explore and share ideas as we use tools and tasks to push our boundaries. We will take time to run, fly, jump, dive, fall and get back up to keep going.

As always, we'll be accompanied by 100% sun-filled and hand-pressed tunes to groove to!

Victor Rottier

Choreographic assistant, rehearsal director

Victor Rottier is originally from the Netherlands and completed his professional dance training at the Artez School of Arts in Arnhem, where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in 2014. He works internationally as a dancer, choreographer, director and lecturer.

From 2014 to 2018 he was a member of the ensemble at Staatstheater Kassel, where he performed in works by Johannes Wieland, Hofesh Shechter, Maxine Doyle, Tom Weinberger and Helder Seabra and then worked as a rehearsal director until 2021. In 2022, he became a choreographic assistant at the Staatstheater Braunschweig while remaining active in the independent scene.

As co-founder of Greywax Dance Company, he helped shape their artistic vision and created Greywax 140 (2023) and Echoes of Applause (2024). His work also extends to operas, musicals and dance films. Since November 2024, he has been a full-time choreographic assistant and rehearsal director in Lucerne and has a permanent position at the Lucerne Theater.

WORKSHOPS

In each workshop you will work intensively with one of the artists over 3 days.

Each workshop is offered for two levels:
SOFT - slower tempo, for relaxed people or those with little previous knowledge
INTENSIVE - faster tempo, for motivated or with more dance experience & professionals

The TanzFaktur SommerAkademie - Cologne's international festival for contemporary dance - takes place every year in mid-July. The large-scale two-week festival is a platform for high-caliber national and international artists, projects and collectives.

In addition to the performances, workshops for professionals and dance enthusiasts offer opportunities for dialogue between dance professionals and the audience.
