Author Isabelle Lehn will meet around 20 readers for a book chat and discuss her book "Die Spielerin" with them in a moderated discussion.

The book chat is not a traditional reading, but an exchange of ideas with the audience, a conversation at eye level. Questions can be asked, answers discussed and suggestions made in a relaxed atmosphere. Listening is of course also encouraged.

In her new novel, Isabelle Lehn tells the story of an unassuming middle-aged woman who moves from a sheltered life in the provinces of Lower Saxony to Zurich to pursue a career as an investment banker and quickly becomes an operating accountant for the Calabrian mafia. The character is called A. and quickly gets to know the world of bad banks, where neither borders nor laws seem to apply. She learns not to look too closely at who she opens an account for. She learns not to ask where a fortune comes from. In short: she learns to launder money. And above all, she learns to use her inconspicuousness to make millions. Ultimately, she remains silent in court. Her story is told by others. A novel inspired by a true crime story that reads like a single power trip.

All participants should have read the novel in order to take part in the book chat, otherwise no discussion can take place. Visitors are responsible for buying and reading the book themselves, everything else is taken care of. A moderator will lead through the evening.
