Elbe Word Picnic with Katharina Hagena and Malte Borsdorf, music: Hafennacht

We open the word picnic season with a reading as part of "Hamburg reads the Elbe": Katharina Hagena reads excerpts from her recently published novel "Flusslinien". It's about three people, three fates - and twelve early summer days on the Elbe that change everything... In his debut novel "Flutgebiet", Malte Borsdorf interweaves the world of the young Karl Blomstedt and the harbour pub "Kogge" with the events of the Hamburg storm surge disaster night of 1962.
