Würfelkriege. Museumstag zu Krieg und Geschichte in Spielen

In the organizer's words:

Play is one of the needs of human beings. In the imagined realities of games, the world can be negotiated without this having any real consequences. This is why war and history are among the oldest themes to be dealt with vividly and imaginatively in tabletop games. "Risk" is probably the best-known game of its kind in this country, combining strategy, conflict situations, rules, miniatures and the unpredictability of life through the fall of the dice.
For Museum Day "Dice Wars", the Military History Museum of the German Armed Forces in Dresden and the Technical University of Dresden are focusing on the cosmos of tabletop, board and board games. A small presentation will open up the diversity of tabletop games, while painting workshops will allow visitors to acquire or hone their skills in painting miniatures. In addition, lectures, talks and a reading will explore the topics of war and history in tabletop and board games. And finally, the whole day can be spent rolling the dice for victory or defeat at numerous tables with a wide variety of games in the museum.

Free admission to all events.
