YAAND & urbau showing
The two artists Anda Kryeziu (YAAND) and Justin Robinson (urbau) are completing a one-week residency at ZiMMT as part of the Spatial Audio Network Europe (SANE). The interim status of their work will be presented on this evening.
The Berlin-based artists have been working together on a project that combines experimental sound design with cross-genre elements such as hyperpop, industrial noise and spatialized audio
The project focuses on industrial soundscapes, urban and rural field recordings from Kosovo and industrial plants in Brandenburg. These diverse sound sources are processed and transformed through a fusion of digital and semi-analog techniques, creating textures that are simultaneously organic and hypersynthetic.
The juxtaposition of organic recordings with hypersynthetic, glitchy and rhythmically complex elements reflects the contrast between rural and urban environments and the transgressive ethos of hyperpop. The aim of the collaboration is to challenge the listener's perception of space, texture and intensity in modern soundscapes.
