Yael Deckelbaum is much more than a singer-songwriter - she is a musical ambassador for peace, a powerful voice for change, justice and female strength. With her unique blend of folk, soul and spiritual sounds, she creates music that touches hearts and breaks down walls.

Yael gained international fame with the viral peace song "Prayer of the Mothers", which became the anthem of the women's marches for peace in Israel and Palestine. Her songs are often created in the midst of movement, protest and hope - carried by a deep spiritual strength and an unshakeable belief in the power of collective healing.

Whether at international festivals, in occupied streets or in quiet acoustic moments, Yael Deckelbaum invites her audience to connect, listen and dream together. Her music is a call to unity - courageous, stirring and deeply human.

For her committed work within the peace initiatives Women Wage Peace (Israel) and Women of the Sun (Palestine), Yael Deckelbaum was awarded the Günter Wallraff Prize for Freedom of the Press and Human Rights together with Meera Eilabouni in 2024.

A voice of peace

Meera Eilabouni is a Palestinian singer, spoken word artist and activist who raises her voice for understanding, justice and the vision of a common coexistence. With haunting poetry and musical depth, she creates spaces in which listening and mutual understanding become possible - beyond hatred, fear and violence.

As a committed member of the Palestinian women's peace movement Women of the Sun, Meera stands for a courageous and empathetic dialog with Israeli women from the Women Wage Peace initiative. Her art is never an end in itself - it is a tool, a bridge and a protest at the same time. Her lyrics and songs reflect the complex realities of the Middle East as well as the hope for healing, freedom and equality.
