Zamanand Festival

In the organizer's words:

Twice a year, in spring and fall, Leopoldstraße in Munich is closed to traffic and transformed into a lively festival area within a few hours, located in Maxvorstadt between Odeonsplatz and Siegestor. With an average of 250,000 visitors per weekend, the Zamanand Festival is one of the largest urban events that take place every year.

The history of the festival is closely linked to the concept of "together and communal". It aims to offer the entire city community a place to meet, exchange ideas, be inspired and have fun together. The values of social cohesion, togetherness, respect, tolerance and sustainability are central to this, as the challenges of the future can only be overcome together.

The festival is closely integrated into the European Car Free Day, to which the city of Munich would like to make a contribution. The Department for Climate and Environmental Protection of the City of Munich is co-organizing the event. Lord Mayor Dieter Reiter is the patron of the festival.

The Zamanand Festival is open to all and free of charge. There is no obligation to consume and everyone is invited to actively participate in the temporary urban cultural conversion. The festival thus offers a platform for any kind of program participation, be it through music or art performances, workshops or presentations of initiatives and projects.
