Zebra Poetry Film Festival – Internationaler Wettbewerb II

In the organizer's words:

The best poetry films from around the world - and the world in the microcosm of poetry film. This is where great poetry performances meet moving stories. Over 1,000 entries from more than 90 countries were submitted for the ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival 2025. A program committee has nominated 21 of them for the International Competition. The following prizes will be awarded this year by the three-member jury consisting of Christine Franz (editor ARTE, Germany), Ariane von Graffenried (poet, Switzerland) and Anne Isensee (filmmaker, Germany): the "ZEBRA Prize for the Best Poetry Film", donated by Haus für Poesie, the "Goethe Film Prize - The Art of Listening", donated by the Goethe-Institut, and the "Ritter Sport Film Prize", donated by Alfred Ritter GmbH & Co. KG.

The screenings are generally shown in the original version with English subtitles. Unless otherwise announced, the event languages are German and English.

The short film program also deals with topics such as violence, separation, loss and emotional stress. Some films contain explicit depictions and intense emotional scenes that can be disturbing.

The event will take place in the domed hall of silent green.
