"Cyrrealism" / "The Trace of the Snail"
Contemporary circus inspires, questions, touches, makes people laugh, connects. It's time for circus!
Under this motto, the decentralized festival Time for Circus brings outstanding contemporary circus to venues all over Germany. This includes the bremer shakespeare company in cooperation with the Bürgerhaus Mahndorf.
You can enjoy two productions as a double bill: In Cyrrealism (30 min) by Fenja Barteldres, it becomes clear that life doesn't always turn out the way we imagined it would. Fenja Barteldres uses her circus prop, the cyr, in a previously unknown way, turning the tire into a completely different piece of equipment. Sometimes ornate, sometimes flexible like a snake and sometimes dismantled into its individual parts. In this way, an entire universe emerges from a single Cyr.
The piece The Trace of the Snail (50 min) by the Lemon Press Collective puts the small, the weak and the fragile in the spotlight. What happens when we let down our protective walls? With a poetic combination of juggling, handstands, movement and language, Mika Schnapper from Bremen and Aurélie Tercier from Switzerland invite us to look at vulnerability from a different angle.
Two pieces, three artists, a taste of contemporary circus! We cordially invite you to immerse yourself in this art form for an evening.
Made possible by the Bürgerhaus Mahndorf, the Karin and Uwe Hollweg Foundation and the Waldemar Koch Foundation.
