ZEMENT + HEIMAT

In the organizer's words:

Slow Club Freiburg proudly presents:

ZEMENT

Zement is an experimental/avant-rock band from Nuremberg/Germany. Zement consists of Philipp Hager and Christian Büdel.
With their rotating rhythms, swirling synthesizers and rough textures they try to create a musical experience that combines elements of Krautrock, Psychedelic Rock, Noise Rock, No Wave and EDM! Inspired by the early electronic, highway-inspired works of Kraftwerk and the hypnotic repetitions of krautrock legends Neu! and CAN, Zement have created a unique hybrid sound that is both nostalgic and futuristic. Inspired by the works of artists from the New York downtown scene such as John Zorn, Sonic Youth, LCD Soundsystem, Oneida or Animal Collective, Zement delve even deeper into an eclectic mix of contemporary electronic dance music combined with influences from fuzz rock, jazz, noise and no-wave sounds on the new album "Passages". Passagen is a concept album in which words find more space than ever before. It is intended to push cement's exploration of sound even further. It offers more disco, more punch, more glitter, more motorik, more jazz. The endless meditation on the architecture of the mind and the movement of bodies continues.

HOME

Heimat are Armelle Oberlé (The Dreams, Badaboum) & Olivier Demeaux (Cheveu, Accident du travail), two well-known protagonists of the French underground scene. Since their first album (2016), Heimat has surprised many listeners and diggers with the originality of their music, which is inspired by Asian music from Ocora, New Wave or Trap beats. Armelle's unique voice combines elements of German, Italian or English dialect in her own way.
Since then, Heimat's work has been remixed by artists such as Sonic Boom, Tolose Low trax or Zohar and the band has been invited as support for European tours by Fever Ray or Protomartyr.
