While Isabell takes care of her sick parents and tries to save her marriage at the same time, she meets single mother Anja. The new relationship reveals the fragility of her painstakingly constructed world.

Isabell's (Nina Hoss) life is thrown into disarray when she realizes that her elderly parents can no longer cope on their own. While she desperately searches for caregivers, she commutes between Berlin and her parents' weekend home, which was once built by her father in the modernist style. In this tense situation, Isabell keeps bumping into the enigmatic Anja (Saskia Rosendahl), a single mother struggling with her own challenges. As Anja and her young daughter Greta increasingly enter Isabell's life, an unexpected bond develops between the two women. At the same time, Isabell begins to doubt the life she previously thought was safe and familiar. Her marriage to Philippe (Vincent Macaigne) begins to show cracks, and the feeling of losing control over her life grows ever stronger.
