Have you heard about the Finnish war children? During the Second World War, over 70,000 children from Finland were sent to Sweden - away from their families, their homeland and everything familiar to them. But what awaited them there?

On March 17, 2025, author Saskia Geisler invites you to a moving reading. In her novel "Zimtschneckenjahre", she tells the story of Matti and Sanna - representative of thousands of children who experienced uprooting, loss and the search for identity.

This reading makes it tangible how war and flight shape children - and tells of the power of small gestures that can provide comfort. Because sometimes there is more to a cinnamon bun than just a sweet taste.
