ZONTA International is a worldwide association of professional women who are committed to improving the legal, political and economic situation of women all over the world. To this end, ZONTA International cooperates with other global organizations such as the United Nations (UN), the World Health Fund (WHO) and UNESCO.
Founded in Buffalo/USA in 1919, ZONTA International today has 1200 clubs and 29,000 members in 63 countries. One of Zonta International's main concerns is the fight to eliminate and prevent violence against women and girls. To mark the International Day of Remembrance for Victims of Violence against Women and Girls on November 25, Zonta Clubs around the world call for action every year with the campaign "Orange the world" and under the motto "Zonta says NO",
not to look away, but to actively participate in the fight to eliminate and prevent violence against women and children.
