Zu Tage - Musiktheater-Performance

The Essen-based ensemble MOMENT presents a performance of elegiac microtonal music. This special niche with interpretations by innovative young composers such as Catherine Lamb, Fredrik Rasten and Konstantin Heuer is complemented by an interpretation by audiovisual artist Simon Steen-Andersen and an aria by Hildegard von Bingen. The special thing about MOMENT: they play the pieces embedded in improvisations and are all performers who experiment with forms of music theater across the church space and beyond. Be inspired by changing venues, diverse sound sources and an overall creative approach to the space.

"Zu Tage" consists of individual episodes, all of which have to do with finding peace. This program is dedicated to one's own peace, the peace before world events, the final peace and the initial peace.

The Frankfurt singer Lara Süß is a regular guest of the ensemble, Robert Beck, clarinettist from Essen, and Daniela Petry from Dortmund on double bass are joined by the physical theater artist (a mixture of dance, movement theater and vocal art) Francesco Matejcek, also from Essen.

Simon Rummel from Cologne is not only involved in his core competence as an organist, but also on other instruments such as a mini-keyboard and in various performative contexts. This production, which is now being staged here at the IDO Festival, was directed by Cologne-based music theater director Frauke Meyer.
