A striker and a midfielder meet in the forest. They get talking and are surprised to discover that they both play for Real Madrid. What a wonderful coincidence! Because they like each other so much and the midfielder has nothing better planned for Christmas, the striker invites him over to his parents' house. They immediately take their son's new friend to their hearts, especially as they are sure that this is more than just a "friendship".

With subtle humor, Leo Meier creates a world in which polite professional footballers fly to training with their kite, Sergio Ramos philosophizes movingly about the transience of life and even top athletes celebrate Christmas in a frighteningly normal way.

Leo Meier (*1995) originally wanted to become a professional footballer, but then preferred to study theater studies and philosophy in Bochum and acting at the Folkwang University of the Arts. "zwei herren von real madrid" was awarded both the Audience Award and the SWR2 Radio Play Prize at the Heidelberg Stückemarkt in 2022.
