Zwischen Frieden und Krieg

Director Katharina Tushder, who fled from Ukraine, and theater maker Manfred Kerklau are bringing their impressive play "Between Peace and War" back to the stage. Their encounter led to an artistic collaboration that resulted in an extraordinary, deeply moving evening of theater.
The play tells of Tushder's experiences as a war refugee, of life between two worlds, between peace and war, hope and loss, memory and uncertainty.
"Between Peace and War" manages without words. Instead, the story unfolds through powerful scenes, talking pictures, contemporary dance as well as object and shadow theater. The production is carried by an outstanding ensemble: dancers Melanie Lopez-Lopez and Katrin Banse and actor Stefan Nászay lend the play a special intensity with their impressive presence and physical expressiveness.
Last year's performances were highly praised and the audience was deeply moved.
After the performances (50 min.), the audience is cordially invited to talk and exchange ideas.
