Concept and choreography Taulant Shehu

From 10 years

In ZwischenLand , Taulant Shehu explores numerous facets of the topic of migration, the associated emotional circumstances and the search for belonging. He deals with the tensions between leaving and staying, loss and new beginnings and the fleeting moments that make up change. The play captures the in-between, the stillness of new beginnings, the chaos of change and the hope that sprouts when something new takes shape.

It is also a story, no, rather many stories, about the acceptance and strength it takes to leave familiar places behind. Openness, adaptation and resilience are required to find your way in unfamiliar territory.

Taulant Shehu: "My approach to choreography development begins with exploring emotions, memories and the diverse dynamics in the rehearsal process as a basis for movement development and composition. Immersing myself in the themes of the piece, using the tools of improvisation and experimentation, ideas are transformed into physical danced expression. For me, the physical experience is much more exciting than the mere execution of learned step material. At the same time, however, with the completion of this creative process, the movement sequences become meticulously defined and exactly repeatable. Collaboration with the dancers is essential, their individuality and personality play a major role in the design because they make the form - and dance is of course also form - real and comprehensible."

ZwischenLand becomes an arena of possibilities, where endings are beginnings and every step forward is a pioneering act.
