A liturgical high-tech experiment or how do you achieve sublimity in 13 minutes?
Epiphany is about the need to achieve a moment of sublimity - as quickly as possible. By choosing the liturgical antiphon "Regina Coeli" and the resulting sacred chant, Epiphanie makes use of religious means that have always been used to bring about sublime moments. The objects used are taken from everyday life. Together with live-produced electronic soundscapes, Epiphanie thus always moves in the field of tension between sacred grace, everyday banality and technological progress.
/SÉANCE/ | Jan Jedenak [Leipzig]
Sequences for the interpretation of the invisible
/SÉANCE/ conjures up the invisible in small motif sequences inspired by Guy de Maupassant's fictional diary "Le Horla". In the light of a spotlight, moments from a bygone era freeze into sinister tape recordings that seem to spring from a psyche that has fallen into madness. A play with the fleeting nature of light and the uncertainty of our perception. An attempt to capture the uncanny presence of the absent between light and shadow.
The production won the 2015 Fritz Worttelmann Prize from Fidena and the City of Bochum in the category for young professionals.
EKHEO feat. Roger Brown
Ekheo is a duo consisting of Aude Langlois (FR) and Belinda Sykora (AT) that explores the interfaces between the musical, visual and acoustic art of performance. The sound art duo will be accompanied by Rodger Brown (JM/US), who will design the scenic and visual aspects. Equipped with synthesizers, microphones, instruments, loop machines and reactive live projections, Ekheo & Rodger Brown create a transcendent, dreamlike atmosphere that takes the audience on a psychedelic journey and expands the perception of sound and vision. Each performance is unique and characterized by improvisation, interaction with the immediate environment and the dynamic exchange between the three artists.
