In the location's words:

As a socio-cultural center, Bahnhof Langendreer combines culture with socio-political content. At over 35 years old, it is one of the oldest socio-cultural centers in NRW.

With its diverse and broad cultural program, Bahnhof Langendreer is also a nationally renowned venue: live music with a focus on global sounds as well as jazz, blues, singer/songwriters, indie, electro-pop etc., parties, political cabaret and sophisticated comedy from well-known stars to local cabaret. The stages are also used by local and international theater groups, authors regularly read and discuss with the audience. At Bahnhof Langendreer, political topics have a permanent place in various event formats, series and projects. It is also a meeting point and venue for many political, cultural and social initiatives. Bahnhof Langendreer sees itself as a partner for initiatives, institutions and user groups in Bochum.

In addition to the program, we are also increasingly focusing on cultural education: in 2018, we launched the three-year project "act now! - young workshop for theater, performance and spoken word", which offers and develops educational theater programs and formats for and with teenagers and young adults.

endstation.kino + Café

Involved from the very beginning and an independent business since 2012: endstation.kino. The arthouse cinema in the heart of the station offers several screenings a day and an ambitious, award-winning program: documentaries, international films in original versions, rarities, conceptual film series, film festivals, children's cinema, film talks, school screenings and much more. For years, the profile of endstation.kino has also included educational film programs for children and young people as well as intercultural participatory formats such as the endstation.club.

"OFF-Bahnhof"

Bahnhof Langendreer has also been organizing concerts and cabaret outside the station for many years - at Schauspielhaus Bochum, RuhrCongress, Jahrhunderthalle Bochum, Christuskirche, Stadthalle and Freilichtbühne Wattenscheid.

It is also co-organizer of national festivals such as Odyssee - Musik der Metropolen (together with the Pelmke in Hagen, the Altstadtschmiede in Recklinghausen, the Ringlokschuppen in Mülheim an der Ruhr and WDR Radio COSMO) and Ruhr International (together with the Cultural Office of the City of Bochum and Bochumer Veranstaltungs GmbH as well as in cooperation with Interkultur Ruhr / RVR).

And finally, we also like to go out with our political ranks and projects and get involved in local political events with our alliance partners.

And as before... self-managed!

Bahnhof Langendreer was and is a self-managed operation: this means that there is no formal boss, but the house team decides together on important matters for the entire house. A sponsoring association provides the formal structure for this.

Bahnhof-Langendreer is subsidized with public funds from the budget of the city of Bochum.
