The Cafe Museum is located in a quiet corner of Passau's old town directly on the Danube quay within the late Gothic building ensemble Museum of Modern Art - Wörlen Foundation.

To the right of the main entrance in Bräugasse is the small café and bistro, which attracts plenty of visitors at all times of the year, especially with its home-made cakes in the best sense of the word.

However, if you enter the café from the Donaukai, you will be taken directly to our event room with a small stage, which - small as it may be - has become famous far beyond Passau thanks to performances by over 200 international music groups from all over the world.

The fact that after only two years our actually quite small café has been able to accumulate the reputation of the "new jazz temple of south-east Bavaria" (R. Meisenberger, PNP, 12/03) speaks for the quality of the seasonal events of international standard and confirms the varied popularity of our guests.

In addition to our much-praised home-made cakes, we offer small, delicious dishes - organic whenever possible. Our draught beer is also "organic" - sourcing hops and malt from organic farming is still a rarity.
We have now completely abandoned the usual range of bottled wines and instead offer you a variety of white and red draught wines from a wide range of growing regions.

In short: you are in the best company of the muses.
Art, culture and historical ambience can be enjoyed on our Danube terrace. Your gaze wanders over ships from all over the world across the Danube to the medieval Veste Oberhaus and you may realize that you are on vacation.
