Your visit to the German Football Museum will be an all-round experience from the moment you enter the checkroom area and climb the escalator to the second floor to the exit of the exhibition. That's a promise. Whether you're a big soccer fan, just a sports enthusiast or "just" an escort, the German Soccer Museum will take you on an emotional journey through the history of soccer. We don't want to give too much away and anticipate the little surprises, many details and impressive installations, but this much can be said: we had a big, happy grin on our faces throughout, the odd goose bump and even a bit of wee-wee in our eyes. Of course, the years 1954, 1974, 1990 and 2014 are important key dates of the tour, but also the genesis of the Bundesliga, the DFB and FIFA, the World Cup in Germany, as well as legendary coaches, players & commentators - and so many other aspects - are thematized. The exhibition areas have been skillfully staged with historical exhibits, legendary snapshots in pictures, text, sound and film and you will find numerous stations that interactively involve you as a visitor. Emotional video sequences convey the fascination of soccer to you again and again. Conclusion: You should definitely visit the museum!

Are you looking for a restaurant with that special something for lunch? Here in the museum you will find a restaurant on the upper floor, where Holger Stromberg (former chef of the national team) has contributed to the menu. A visit to the restaurant can be added to your tour of the museum, or you can stop by without a museum ticket simply for the sake of enjoyment. The elevator in the museum lobby takes you directly to the top. By the way, we love the huge window front with a view of the Dortmund skyline around the City and State Library.
