While Essen developed from a coal and steel city into the European Green Capital 2017, Grugapark has always been the green heart of the city, for young and old from near and far. The people of Essen love their Grugapark and visitors tell their very own stories about "their" park.

Covering around 60 hectares, Grugapark Essen invites you to discover nature up close, experience adventures, play and do sports, relax, get to know the park animals and visit one of the largest open-air sculpture exhibitions in Germany.
