In the location's words:

With the port archive, the history department in the Kulturhaus Walle Brodelpott has been operating a branch in Überseestadt since 2004.

In 2022, we moved to the Überseeinsel in the old Kellogg's administration building and continue to work closely with the port museum in Speicher XI.

In the port archive, we keep more than 6,000 port images, sorted by theme and accessible in picture folders. Further collections on the history of the port are currently being digitally recorded, such as the collection of almost 8,000 prints and negatives by Bremen photographer Hans Brockmöller.

We invite you to visit the open archive two days a week. At these times, our volunteers are available to help with research.
