The "HSH", as it is known in insider circles, has shaped the cityscape in the center of Gelsenkirchen for almost 100 years and often elicits a mental or even verbal "wow" from numerous visitors and tourists alike when they first see it. It radiates a special atmosphere from the outside. With its striking shapes and clear lines in brick expressionist style, this building is timelessly elegant and a real eye-catcher in the middle of the former "City of a Thousand Fires". Even from a distance, the building, which attracts visitors from all over the region, radiates its special energy.

The Hans-Sachs-Haus is an architectural gem. It was awarded the German Balthasar Neumann Prize for Architecture in 2014 and received the Westphalian Prize for Building Culture in 2015.

Since its completion, the Hans-Sachs Haus has been the central seat of local politics, city administration and culture in Gelsenkirchen. There are various event rooms inside the building. All rooms are modern and well-equipped, with functional and elegant furnishings. Particularly impressive is the large hall of the Hans-Sachs-Haus, which offers space for up to 1000 people (citizens' forum + atrium) and is suitable for concerts, exhibitions, theater performances, all kinds of cabaret and other cultural events organized by emschertainment.

In addition to cultural events, emschertainment organizes a large number of educational, information and conference events, for which the Hans-Sachs-Haus Bürgerforum is particularly well suited. The traditional house is therefore also a place where you can learn, develop and discover new things, where you can exchange ideas with others and enjoy cultural experiences together.
