The Kleine Rathausgalerie Greifswald is a municipal exhibition space on the second floor of the historic town hall directly on the market square of the university and Hanseatic town of Greifswald. In the midst of medieval architecture with Gothic and Baroque elements - including a ribbed vault and elaborately designed council chambers - the gallery offers regularly changing exhibitions with a special focus on regional art and socially relevant themes. The spectrum ranges from photography and graphic art to painting, with works by artists with a local connection often also being shown. The exhibitions are free of charge and are aimed at a wide audience interested in contemporary forms of expression as well as the cultural identity and history of the region.
