The KlimaWerkStadt is run by the small, non-profit association KulturPflanzen e.V., which also initiated the urban garden project 'Ab geht die Lucie' - opposite the KlimaWerkStadt. Both projects work closely together and, since 2022, the project offices have also been responsible for both locations.

KlimaWerkStadt opened its doors in January 2018 and has been offering an extensive program on climate protection ever since. Over 180 events have taken place in the first two years, including many workshops and lectures, as well as film evenings, clothes swap parties, tastings, etc.

Since the beginning, our repair café has been held every Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m., where we have already repaired over 1000 electrical appliances, bicycles and textiles. There is also an open woodworking workshop and Bremen's only fund for consumables. We collect handicraft materials such as fabrics, buttons, zippers, etc., as well as craft materials, paper, packaging and electrical cables. Anything that can still be used can be donated to us and taken away in return for a donation. This keeps things in circulation and saves resources.

The KlimaWerkStadt is not just a place for events, but also a place for solidarity and togetherness. Around 50 volunteers are involved in the space and various groups use it. All offers are based on donations, although it is important to mention that the space cannot be maintained without the support of donations. But one's own financial means should not preclude participation.

In the KlimaWerkStadt, active and everyday climate protection can be experienced. The focus is on getting involved and not just talking. For a good climate in many respects!
