In the middle of Brackel, surrounded by beautiful old chestnut trees, stands the balou cultural center. There is a great playground in the courtyard and next door Café balou invites you for a drink.

A colorful range of courses

The former school building was converted and is now a meeting place for all generations. Numerous courses and workshops are offered here, as well as recreational programs for children and young people. The courses on offer are varied and range from children's ballet and yoga classes to "sewing machine driving licenses". There really is something here for every interest and preference! Visitors from other parts of the city are also invited to get to know the cultural center and its offerings - it is intended as a meeting place.

Café balou offers tea, waffles and chat

In addition to the many course rooms, there is the Café balou, which invites you to enjoy a delicious tea and a chat after a yoga class, for example. If you like, you can treat yourself to a fluffy waffle with powdered sugar or hot cherries, ice cream and whipped cream.

The light-flooded room is bright and friendly and is also used as a gallery. Local artists show their work here in changing exhibitions. In the winter garden there is a huge black grand piano waiting to be played, which is always a highlight at events.

Rent for private events

Every Wednesday there is "Culture Wednesday" with changing offers like tango, workshops and live music. You can also rent Café balou for private events, conferences and company parties. With its high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, oak floors and light-flooded winter garden, the café offers a charming ambience for celebrations of all kinds.
