The Kunstverein Bielefeld was founded in 1929 with the aim of promoting art and making it accessible. Today, its work is supported by almost 1000 dedicated members who are committed to the mediation and further development of art. The program focuses on the critical and transformative power of art, which responds to current social and cultural discourses.

In addition to individual presentations, thematic exhibitions play a central role. These are often realized in collaboration with international institutions and regional initiatives and offer space for a lively exchange. Our aim is to make the Kunstverein a lively place for aesthetic experiments and thus create a free space in which the challenges and changes in social coexistence can be reflected through art.

In this context, we invite the public to discover young international art positions, discuss social issues and constantly question our understanding of contemporary art.
