Mister Wilson Skatehalle

The 1st Skateboard Club Kassel e.V. - better known as "Mr. Wilson" - was founded in 1989, making it the second oldest skateboard club in Germany. We see ourselves as representatives of the local skateboard scene and as competent and experienced national contacts in the field of skatepark construction and planning.

Since 2012, the association has been running the "Kesselschmiede" on the former Henschel site in the Rothenditmold district of Kassel together with Cluster e.V. and Cafe Libre e.V. - centrally located and less than 10 minutes downhill from the main cultural train station.

The "Mr. Wilson Skate Hall" in the Kesselschmiede is already the third hall built by the skateboard club on a voluntary basis and the largest project to date. In addition to Germany's largest indoor concrete bowl with 250 m² and a 750 m² indoor street area, there is also an almost 1,400 m² courtyard skate park with lots of transitions and, since 2022, another 350 m² pure "street hall".

We are very proud that we were able to convince the city of Kassel to support the operation of the hall, so that we have been able to open this ingenious facility for you free of charge three out of six days a week since 2017! The competent, authentic educational staff are financed by the city's youth welfare office. Nevertheless, there is plenty of room for volunteer work in projects, events or the weekend hall service, where motivated people can easily get involved.

As an association, we feel at home in youth and cultural work and see skateboarding more as a lifestyle than a sport. The "Mr.Wilson Skatehalle" in the Kesselschmiede is our headquarters, where everyone is always welcome.

In addition to running the hall, workshops, contests, cultural events, the expansion and conversion of the ramp course and the premises of the Kesselschmiede, the association also looks after Kassel's skate parks throughout the city from April to October on behalf of the youth welfare office.
