Stand among prehistoric giants, dive into the fish fauna of Lake Möhne, watch colorful crystals sparkle in the black light and catch glimpses of the formation of our solar system - all this and many other exciting things await you on a rainy autumn day at the Dortmund Nature Museum.
Since September 2020, the Naturmuseum is finally open again after a long-term renovation.
Sunken and present habitats and their species await you. In the geological exhibition you will be guided through a comprehensive collection from the last ice age to the Cretaceous period. But we don't want to spoil everything for you. The best thing to do is to discover the great curated exhibits yourself and go on a little big adventure through the ages.
In addition to the permanent exhibition, there are always great special exhibitions. Currently you can visit the exhibition: "Dead as a Dodo - Species. Die. Yesterday. Today".
Our highlights: The large round tank with a capacity of about 90,000 liters of water and the giant skeleton of a woolly mammoth cow - very impressive. We can't get out of our amazement every time we visit.
