The Dortmund puppet theater in Westfalenpark

Visit one of the most beautiful puppet theaters in Germany, the "Nostalgic Puppet Theater". Unique in a puppet theater: the dancing fountains - an illuminated water organ in front of the theater stage with a rain wall.

The repertoire includes the classic hand puppet show with the original Hohnstein figures and over 80 different plays, as well as puppet theater for the whole family such as "The Wunch Punch", "The Little Witch..." & "Charles Dickens Christmas Tales" and also an adult program with operas such as "The Magic Flute" & "The Abduction from the Seraglio", as well as revue productions with marionettes. Readings also take place in our rooms, as well as recitals.

The fairytale outdoor area captivates with many enchanted decorative elements, as well as 5 fairytale houses in which you can see the fairytales of the Brothers Grimm in motion and listen to them.

The Nostalgic Puppet Theater, romantically situated in Dortmund's Westfalenpark, is probably one of the most beautifully designed puppet theaters in existence. This gem has been around for 29 years now and enjoys great popularity with almost 100% capacity utilization.

Marionettes, hand puppets, stage sets and all props are lovingly made by hand in the in-house workshop.
