Olbers-Planetarium

The Olbers Planetarium is located on the Weser island between the large and small Weser and is the most visited small planetarium in Germany with almost 30,000 visitors a year. It is named after the Bremen doctor and astronomer Heinrich Wilhelm Olbers (1758-1840).
The Olbers Planetarium was opened on January 23, 1952 - at that time still as part of the Bremen Maritime School. Originally, the ZKP I projector was used to train nautical students in astronomical navigation.
In 1978, the old projector was replaced by the ZKP II model from Zeiss.
In August 2022, this projector was decommissioned after 44 years of service and replaced by a fulldome system. Instead of optomechanical stars, the sky is now generated digitally, enabling travel through time and space. This new website was also developed in cooperation with neusta aerospace GmbH.
Öffnungszeiten
Das Planetarium ist nur zu den Veranstaltungen geöffnet. Die Kasse öffnet etwa 30 Minuten vor Beginn der Veranstaltung.
