Our self-image:

Our desire for P8 is to create a space that is as free, accessible and safe as possible, where everyone can feel comfortable. We are aware that we are not free from socialization and the influences of financial constraints. And this also applies to the people who attend our events. On the way to this togetherness, we therefore do not always succeed in everything we set out to do. We try our best to create a space that corresponds to our self-image.

Who are we? The P8 collective is a free association of people who have built and designed the space. In P8, we realize creative ideas and pursue our interests independently, self-determinedly and collectively. Everyone is free to decide how they want to contribute to P8. It all depends on what people want to do, how much capacity they have and what they might want to learn.

How do we organize ourselves as a P8 collective? p8 is an attempt to create a self-managed space with the flattest possible hierarchies. Hierarchies can arise and exist anywhere and at any time - even in open spaces, for example when people have different amounts of experience, energy and knowledge. P8 aims to counteract this and give everyone the opportunity to play an active role. For us, self-administration means that we make all decisions by consensus and independently of outsiders. In practical terms, this means that the highest decision-making body is the weekly plenary meeting.

Everything is discussed and decided together in the plenum. Every decision is made without disregarding the feelings and opinions of individuals. No decision is made if one person does not feel comfortable with it. By dividing into working groups with specific areas of responsibility, everyone can contribute according to their interests. These working groups work independently within their areas. Working groups are, for example: Awareness, Catering, Technology, Construction/Crafts, Booking and Bar. We are supported by many helpers. For example, by working shifts at the bar, at the entrance or at Awareness.

What takes place at P8? Our event program is colorful: - concerts - readings - exhibitions - theater - dance - workshops/lectures - film - parties

What do we stand for? We want to create a space in which people can develop without social constraints and norms. To make this possible, P8 must also be as safe a space as possible. This is especially true for people who experience discrimination. We want to create a space in which those affected can share their experiences and be taken seriously; a space in which allies take a stand and provide support. This means that it is important for us to recognize and understand the various forms of discrimination and how they interact and to take action against them. This includes being aware of our own part in it and working on it. Discrimination based on age, origin, skin color, gender, sexuality, appearance, language, religion, social background, social status and physical and emotional condition, for example, has no place here! That's why we all try to look out for each other and react to discrimination instead of looking the other way!

For us, P8 is a place for people who want to take an active stand against political, social and economic injustice. It is a space with a diverse culture and debate, where you can join in and shape things yourself. Our aim is to enable (socio)cultural development and participation for all people. P8 is a space of solidarity and critical togetherness. For us, it is an attempt at joint cultural and political action to overcome existing norms and injustices.
