The saasfee*pavilion is an exhibition space for contemporary young art and music and is run by the artist collective saasfee*. Moni Friebe, Alex Oppermann and Al Dhanab, the founders of the collective, curate the pavilion's artistic program. Together with Andreas Prill and Jenne Schöning, who are also responsible for the selection and booking of electronic music projects, the saasfee*pavilion has become an indispensable platform in the Frankfurt art scene and a network for art, media, design and music - especially for interdisciplinary projects, digital space experiments and electronic music. In cooperation with various institutions and other independent collectives, the network around the pavilion is constantly expanding.

The impetus and inspiration to use the 1970s building in Frankfurt's green belt for exhibitions and to transform it into an artistic platform can already be seen in the group's earlier work. Since the mid-1990s, saasfee* - formerly arosa2000 - has been initiating its own exhibition projects and art spaces that strengthen the Frankfurt network and offer young artists the opportunity to show their work in a professional setting. Over the past few years, the saasfee*pavillon has not only shown works by young artists and students from universities based in the Rhine-Main region, but also international positions by established artists, a valuable interplay that has significantly shaped the role of this art venue.

In September 2028, the saasfee*pavillon will be able to look back on its twentieth anniversary. In the meantime, its reach has developed further, particularly through the newly developed use of the public underground garden with the saasfee*soundpark and the saasfee*satellite. The collective continues to pursue purely artistic and idealistic interests. The focus is on experimentation and new trends in art, music and design, but also on the pavilion itself as an overall artistic production and the opportunity to further develop and maintain this place for artists and those interested in culture.

The saasfee*pavillon e. V. is partly funded and supported by foundations and grants and by institutional funding from the City of Frankfurt's Department of Culture. An essential pillar for the existence of the saasfee*pavillon is the great personal commitment of the collective and the dedication of the young artists and designers involved. However, the saasfee*pavillon is still dependent on private sponsorship and donations in order to maintain this unique location in the heart of the city center.
